Uh, hi!

Hi there,

My name is Elspeth. I'm Alex's wife—Alex, for those of you who don't know, is Mac's brother. Together, the two of them founded Mac's Seafood over 16 years ago. Alex was only 15, and Mac was 19. Inspired by their grandfather's dedication to fresh fish and their grandmother's tasty recipes, they decided to open a fish market on the Wellfleet town pier.

Today, they run three fish markets—this one, another in Truro Center, and another right near Ben & Jerry's on Route 6 in Eastham. They've also expanded on the pier to offer traditional New England-clam-shack-style take out and opened up a popular sushi and fine dining restaurant just down the road on Commercial Street.

They've expanded so much in the past 16 years, in fact, that they have been able to take on a third partner: their cousin Sam. Mac's is still very much a family business—and we consider our customers family, too.

That's why we wanted to start this blog: to share recipes from our kitchens, both in the restaurants and at home, and to keep you in the loop on all of Wellfleet's seafood-related news. So welcome, and we hope to see you back here again sometime soon.
